And there he was. The one sheep that you cannot count. The sheep that does not appear in your dreams. Because this sheep is a sleeper himself. McDreamy. Or McSleepy, if he is not dreaming.
He was dreaming and sleeping. Whilst sitting up.
“I was not sleeping! I was not dreaming!”
“But when I was sleeping and dreaming there was something there that I would like to try out.”
“If you bare with me for a sec, to take this hat off.”
“Yep, all done.”
“Do you know what I discovered? They are lying around the house, multiplying every morning I wake up.”
“Let me show you.”
“It’s on the other side of the mähster bed.”
‘Be back in a sec.”
Okay. So we count the secs.
“Back! Told you, be back in a sec!”
“Notice something different about me?”
“No? Take another look.”
“And now? Yes! It’s the black elastic bands! I found them. They multiply. Every morning when I wake up there is one more. I don’t know what the purpose is of this multiplying. Nor do I understand what the bands are for.”
“They do fit nice as some sort of bracelet.”
“If a bracelet must always be around your paw..”
“Can’t you just also..”
“Around an ear?”
“And I have another one.”
“Because I have two ears.”
“Well, what do you think? From the side I look even better, right?”
“And from the back?”
“And do I look good too when I am getting sleepy?”
Yes, sweetie, you look good, front and back, wearing bracelets or not, awake and dreaming. Now you can go to sleep. The whole flock is awake to count you. Off you go: one.
